Successful Country Coordination Committee (CCC) in Peru set the route for fruitful cooperation in 2020

During the meetings for each sector, more than 50 government and private sector officials from the Peru Export and Tourism Promotion agency - PROMPERU, the Peruvian Exporters Association – ADEX, the National Chamber of Commerce, Production, Tourism and Services – PERUCÁMARAS, the Commercial Offices of Peru Abroad (OCEX) recently incorporated to PROMPERU and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru (RREE) discussed and exchanged their main strategies and positive cooperation with SIPPO during the 2019-2020 period.

These committees enabled synergies between the institutions and opened potential coordination for activities between SIPPO, government and private sector focusing on the development of new sectorial strategies and alignment between activities. The event provided a great opportunity to discuss important topics that affect exports in the country, enabling the finding of potential solutions and value addition through synergy creation for joint activity implementation where export promotion strategies align based on the exchange of experiences between the institutions within the framework of the CCCs.

This event was hosted by SIPPO Peru, with the presence of the team, Ms. Laura Lennkh (Programme Manager for Latin America), Carlos Hanspach (Country Representative) and Manuel Puma (Export Promotion Manager) in a two days event in Lima (September 16-17) with the leadership of the Swisscontact Country Director of Peru, Mr. Kolja Leiser that promoted fruitful synergies during the event.

SECO officials Mr Alain Buhlmann, Director of Cooperation for the Economic Development and Mr Mauricio Chiaravalli, Senior National Official contributed proactively to the meetings giving feedback and recommendations that were well received by the participants.

As part of the event, SIPPO presented an overview of the three sectors with a technical analysis including updated statistics, market segmentation and potential market. Also, SIPPO presented the list of potential activities to be planed for the 2020 intervention of the programme with the BSOs. These activities range from institutional strengthening to market access actions, including CRM and capacity building of the institutions with a strong component of strategic development and synergies between programs.

SIPPO considers the next year as crucial in the strengthening of the BSOs and for creating alliances for the success of the three sectors that are important drivers of the Peruvian economy, hence the commitment of each BSO showed in the event has been an achievement of the CCCs in Peru.
